THE VICTORIA

A short documentary about The Victoria, a local independent LGBT-friendly pub in Walthamstow, and the Creative Vandalism team’s favourite pub in East London. Part tongue-in-cheek promotional video, part heartfelt testimonial. Back in 2019 we thought we’d make this visual love letter to the place to spread the word about how great it is and how culturally important it was for Walthamstow. Unfortunately the venue closed down in August 2020 due to the council’s plans to redevelop the area, and while there are plans to reopen once the work is done, the Victoria as we once knew it has sadly been lost to gentrification…

WHAT IS CREATIVE VANDALISM?

Creative Vandalism is a small art collective based in Walthamstow, East London. We started as a small group of friends with a passion for DIY independent media production and have gone on to dip our toes into all forms of art. We make films, comics, music and have recently started putting on events showcasing our work and other local artists and performers.
